“I loved my father. I would follow him around every Saturday and Sunday when he was off work. We would clean together, do yard work together, grill hot dogs together, watch tv together, and just be together. He provided a stepping stool to help me reach the heights of my goals. The time spent together blinded my eyes, making me ignorant to the red flags showcased in his behaviors, beliefs, and speech. Like jumping blindfolded into a pit of thorns thinking his arms were infant of my, or sitting down, only for him to have swiped the stool out from behind me.”
